Boscia Sleeping Hydration Mask- Review

I am an absolute nut when it comes down to skin care which by the way developed about 2 years ago. I used to be one of those typical high school kids who had no time to but a whole bunch on their face and wait around. I actually remember my mom yelling at me that I don’t bother at all. Years went by and I grew up and developed an interest in make-up. Obviously, when you hit 25, all the small skin lines and unevenness that was never there starts to appear out of nowhere. I found myself standing in front of the mirror poking my cheek and feeling like my skin felt so dull. Of course, that might have something to do with my poor diet (mom yelling again, hahha) but I figured it was now time to do something about it.

I’ve really been into natural treatments that you can cook up from around the kitchen but it never hurts to pick up something from the store that you can just slather on when lazy. There is this one product that I found which was designed EXACTLY for this purpose. The BOSCIA TSUBAKI DEEP HYDRATION SLEEPING MASK. It really is a mouthful but I’ll say it again and again because it’s just so good! The whole idea is to put on the mask right before you sleep and allow it to work on your skin all night long. I was a little skeptical when I picked up a combo pack of this with other Boscia products (a rise mask and a charcoal mask, more on that in future posts) because A) It was small, the combo pack consisted of a 30g/1 oz tube with the other products B) it sounds so weird, how does one even sleep with a mask on? Doesn’t it get icky or weird?

Anyway, I got the combo pack because I really wanted to try out the charcoal mask. 3  months in and I’d thoroughly used the charcoal mask and this Tsubaki sleeping mask was still in its tray. On a whim that night, I washed my face as I usually do, cleansed it and grabbed this sleeping mask. I squeezed the product out of the tube and guess what, it looked like your average cold cream! For some odd reason, that unimpressed me even more but on that same whim from earlier, I applied it to my face.

The instructions on the tube say “massage onto cleansed, dry face and throat with gentle circular motions. Leave on overnight and rinse with water in the morning”. So, I did just that. I noticed that as I massaged the cream into my face, it took on the appearance of a transparent cream and sat lightly on my face (picture below).

Anyway, I went to sleep that night, skeptical and sure that the mask would probably rub off onto my nice pillowcase and I’d have to do the sheets in the morning. But, weirdly enough, I woke up in the morning and my pillow was mark-free. I walked off to the bathroom and on inspection saw nothing special with my skin, but then again masks take a couple of uses to show any effect. I proceeded to rinse my face and then I noticed it. Not only was my face GLOWING post rinse but it was super hydrated and supple. You can really FEEL the hydration that’s how true to the word this mask it.

I loved the effect it gave me and have since used it a couple of times yet there are a few more uses in that tiny tube. I absolutely love this mask and will definitely be purchasing it again from Sephora. You can get the full size of 80g/2.8O.z here for $34. With the sheer number of uses, this tiny one gives, I can’t imagine how many the full sized one would give and with its effects, definitely worth the buy.

If you do use it, give me a holler and let me know how it went for you 🙂
